Technique score
Strong foundation
You demonstrate a strong base and good head stability through the early phase of the shot. The biggest opportunity is improving your front-foot stability and maintaining your shape through contact.
Camera note: Side-on angle only. Bat face angle at contact and lateral head movement toward the off-side could not be assessed reliably; film front-on next session.
Stable head position
Your head remains still as you move into the shot, keeping your eyes level on the ball.
Straight backlift
The bat comes down through a consistent line from a first-slip pickup, giving you a full face at the ball.
Balanced setup
Weight is evenly split at the moment of release, so you are able to move either way.
Front knee stability
Your front knee collapses inward immediately before contact, reducing your base.
Why it matters. A soft front knee lets the head drift toward the off-side and limits force transfer through the shot. It makes you more vulnerable to edging fuller deliveries.
Cue: Land the front foot firmly and keep the knee tracking over the toes.
Stride length to the pitch
On the fuller deliveries your front foot lands about a shoe-length short of the pitch of the ball.
Why it matters. You are reaching with the hands to cover the gap, which brings the bottom hand into the shot and closes the face.
Cue: Commit the stride to where the ball pitches, not to a fixed spot.
Bottom-hand release
On two of the four drives the bottom hand takes over through contact and the follow-through finishes across your body.
Why it matters. It turns a checked drive into a flick, and against seam movement you lose control of the face.
Cue: Drive the top hand toward the target and let the bottom hand stay soft.
Your next session focus
Maintain your head above your front knee through contact.
